Our stake Young Men and Women went on a handcart trek at the Deseret Land and Livestock Ranch outside of Evanston. The other YW leader who was going with me tragically died of apparent heart trouble about two weeks before. We were all missing her. It was a hard experience and I wasn't able to walk the entire 28 1/2 miles in two days but I did my best and was so impressed with the youth and leaders. Then two weeks later (I know, I'm a slow learner!!) DeLoy and I camped with Greg, Kim, Mackenzie, Morganne and their friends and hiked up to the Wind Cave in Logan Canyon. I figured 1.8 miles up wouldn't be bad--but it was steep and hard. DeLoy was a trooper and packed Paden all the way up and back. Both of us could hardly move for a few days. Are we gettin old or what??
