Surprise! Surprise
I finally got my quilt done and on my bed. As most of my family knows this project has been going for YEARS! It was a quilt block of the month that I could never get over to do each month. I had talked my sister in law, Barbara King into getting one too, so she started her blocks and then spent hours for two different years helping me get my blocks done and the quilt pieced together. Without her help and making me pick out and redo many blocks it would never be done. Then it took me over 9 months to quilt but every stitch in it is mine. Another big thanks goes to Gail Nye who helped me put the quilt on the frames to quilt it and taught me how to do the binding. Next my sweet husband painted our bedroom by himself the colors that matched the quilt! I have said that this quilt will be on my bed until the day I die and that I will never try to do another quilt this hard! It is done--miracles do happen!

Special Dates from January
OK, I am behind; Dad and Connie celebrated their 15th anniversary on January 1st. We wish them many more happy years; we love you! Terek is the baby that they are holding.
It was Angela's birthday on January 25th. She is very special to our family. She always is willing to do things with our family and come up with good ideas to strengthen us. This is Terek, our newest grandbaby! He will soon be a year old.

President Hinckley
We have had so many thoughts and feelings about President Hinckley the past week. He has been such a great example and influence in our lives. DeLoy, Kim, and I were able to go to the Spoken Word and Christmas program in the Conference Center about a month and a half ago. The first presidency came in. We have been to conference several times but it is always so touching each time that as soon as President Hinckley starts into the room, the quiet visiting quits and everyone stands in reverence and respect until he is seated. The King Singers sang "Danny Boy" especially for Pres. Hinckley. We never imagined that he would be gone so soon but looking back we are so grateful for that last experience to be in his presence. We take so much for granted. When I saw one of the tributes to him and they talked about how members in one area of the world were taking pictures of Pres. Hinckley on the screen from a broadcast that he was speaking at, I realize I need to be grateful to be able to go to conference often and have a temple that is so close. We hope to do as President Hinckley counseled so often "try to do our best" and try and do better each day!

Tagged!!
The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
Each player answers the questions about themselves.
At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
10 Years ago: I had to cheat and look in my journal--I am getting old and forgetful! Ten years ago I was Relief Society President, working part time at Walton Feed and trying to keep up with my home and family. Kami was keeping us running just tying to keep up with her. She was in Stars Dance, playing a deer in the middle school play and having fun with her friends. DeLoy was still working at Monsanto and thinking about retiring. We had 5 grandchildren; Kim was expecting Morganne and Chris was expecting Kasin--Wow have we grown in 10 years!
5 things on my to do list for today: Exercise, pick up the house, get sausage tortellini soup in the crockpot, make a list for DeLoy to pick things up in town, get things planned for the weekend, get to work and hope the internet comes up, update my blog, work on the family newsletter, go to the quilt class at the church and work on my binding, scriptures---whoops that is more than 5--I got busy thinking about what all I need to get done!!
Things I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire: Not invest any of it in the stock market, Pay to get the sewer up to our house (Yes, we are tired of problems with our septic tank), take all of our family on some nice vacations, buy a little home south for the winter time, make sure our parents and in-laws have all the help and things they need for this stage of their life, put lots into good charity organizations, volunteer to do charity work in countries that need it, make sure all our family has storage and save for the future.
3 of my bad habits are: Procrastinating--sorry if I have passed that on to my kids! licking my lips while I am concentrating, chewing on things, like pencils, pens ect. and making them a mess
5 places I've lived: Paris, Montpelier, Paris, and it feels like I live at the Community Center--- and that is only four---two really!!
5 jobs I have had: Culligan Soft Water in the office, Tri-State Bank as a teller, Phil's Travel Service and Clover Creek Travel, Walton Feed Cannery, Substitute teacher and cook in the schools, Paris Community Center
Things most people don't know about me: Wow, this is hard---I can't snap my fingers very well, I used to feel very insecure, shy, and uncomfortable around people I didn't know but now I like to meet new people and talk and talk!! I am messy and klutzy-- not a messie, I like things clean, organized and not cluttered. I am getting more like my mom thank goodness. I still have a major way to go; I have stash and dash rooms and lots of clutter but I am slowly improving. When I paint anything the paint is everywhere! Tanja used to blame me for getting paint on Her when we tole painted--she just needed someone to blame! When I paint the house it is not just on the walls! When I bake and cook it is everywhere and I can usually spill on myself when I eat. I trip over my feet, DeLoy's feet, up the stairs etc. and I can drop things, accidently fling them, break things and so on and so on. DeLoy thinks that I am going to poke his eye out one day or maime him. But hey, I've read the Secret so I am trying to think graceful and clean!
I can't think of one person to tag let alone five!! So Kami you are just lucky that I did this!!
